Part-time Faculty Health Insurance Program
Who is Eligible to Enroll
To be eligible for enrollment in the Part-Time Faculty Health Insurance Program at SMCCCD, part-time faculty must have a minimum of 0.4 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) with SMCCCD.
Fall 2026 Open Enrollment
Fall 2026 Open Enrollment will be held from October 5 through October 23, 2026. Coverage elected during this period will take effect November 1, 2026 and will continue into 2027.
If you are currently enrolled in a District medical plan, this is your opportunity to change medical plans. Continuing employees who remain enrolled will not have another opportunity to change medical plans during Spring 2027 unless they experience a qualifying event.
A Spring enrollment period will be available for eligible part-time faculty who are not currently enrolled in District medical coverage.
The secure online enrollment form will be available on this page beginning October 5, 2026.
After Open Enrollment closes, changes to an existing medical plan generally require a qualifying event. See the Qualifying Event FAQs for more information.

How to Enroll
Eligible part-time faculty may enroll or make permitted changes during the Fall 2026 Open Enrollment period by completing the secure online enrollment form on this page.
- Review the available medical plans and monthly rates below. Select a plan name to review its 2027 Evidence of Coverage.
- Choose your medical plan and coverage level: Employee Only, Employee + 1, or Employee + 2 or More.
- Complete the secure online enrollment form between October 5 and October 23, 2026.
- Review your selections before submitting the form to make sure your medical plan, coverage level, and enrollment information are correct.
2027 Part-Time Faculty Medical Rates
The amounts below are the monthly employee contribution for eligible part-time faculty beginning January 1, 2027. These rates apply throughout the 2027 calendar year for eligible part-time faculty.
