Overview
Welcome to the San Mateo County Community College District!
Our college district is an extension of who we are in the many diversified cities, communities, and neighborhoods of our county. I am honored to represent this beautiful District in the capacity as Interim Chancellor – following in the shoes of our long-serving previous Chancellor, Mike Claire, who retired June 30, 2023, after an incredible 35 years of service.
We are committed to delivering excellence in educational experiences and meeting the needs of our widely varied populations throughout the County. Each of our three colleges, Cañada College, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College, offer students a plethora of educational opportunities including those leading to a four-year university transfer as well as programs designed to provide you with technical, workforce, and vocational skills in high wage areas. You may either earn an Associate in Arts or Science degree or receive a Certificate of proficiency in your chosen field of study.
Our “students-first” team of faculty, staff, and managers consider it a privilege to serve you. Your success is our most important goal! Each campus is unique in its educational offerings but also in personality and culture. It is my hope that you explore each of the campuses and find your home. We want your experience with us to be challenging, yet enjoyable. We hope you find intellectual rigor in the classroom and a sense of community and belonging at each of our campuses.
