Cañada College Hillside Erosion Mitigation Project

The Project consists in to repair the slopes and channels eroded during the Spring 2022 rainy season, and rain events within January of 2023. The scope included the repairs of one (1) landslide located at the north-east of the tennis courts, using the Geopier Slope Reinforcement Technology (SRT) system; two (2) landslides located at the south-west of the tennis courts by removal and replacement of the disturbed materials and improvements in the rainwater drainage, two (2) landslides around the loop road by removing the disturbed soil and smoothed out the erosion rills and compacted the loose materials; and the repair of the drainage channel at the west entry drive with an erosion control blanket and rock slope protection steps.

The repairs have been completed with an on-site soil stockpile, and the work included relocating and spreading the remaining soil on the top of the swale repair area.

All the slopes and disturbed areas have been vegetated by hydroseeding as a permanent erosion control measure.
