Crime Alerts


This is a timely warning to inform the College of San Mateo Community that San Mateo Police and the San Mateo County Community College District Public Safety Department was notified yesterday, 04/12/2016, of another theft of property in the San Mateo Athletic Club Men’s Locker Room.  This is the fifth theft within the last month. Valuable items including laptops, iPhones and GoPro cameras have been taken. The suspect is unknown at this time. If anyone has any information about this incident they are encouraged to contact the San Mateo Police Department at 650‐522‐7700 or SMCCCD Public Safety at 650‐574-6154. 

In the interest of campus safety, SMCCCD Public Safety Department would like to remind everyone of the importance of personal safety and property precautions.

  • Be alert to your surroundings while on foot to SM Athletic Club.

Walk with confidence and determination ‐ don't look like a victim.

  • Lock your car before walking into SM Athletic Club.
  • Leave valuable property in your car, out of sight, locked in your trunk.
  • If using a locker for personal property, lock the locker with your own lock.

Do not leave valuable items or your gym bags unsecured in the locker room.
