Cañada Building 18 Mortuary Lab Installation

Room 221A in Building 18 at Cañada College will be transformed into a funeral services preparation room. The empty space will be transformed into a practical lab with a hydraulic lift, mortuary cooler, sinks equipped with controlled temperature and pressure, and a new air control system. In addition, the lab will be outfitted for convenience and safety with safe storage for flammable chemicals and clean instruments, multiple wash stations, and specialized drainage. Viewing windows will allow students to observe procedures when not participating in them.

Benefits

This project will provide a space for the Cañada College Funeral Service program to learn and practice funeral preparation skills. When completed, this preparation room will be the first lab space on campus dedicated to this growing program.
