TROJANS TOP SFCC AND CANADA, MOVE IN TO SECOND

Skyline rebounded from a tough stretch of games to beat Canada College of Redwood City on Thursday 6-1. Headed into the semester break the Trojans shut out San Francisco City College 5-0. The pair conference wins over SFCC and Canada move Skyline (16-9, 5-4) in to second place, just two games out of first in the Coast Conference North.

Matt Maggiolo pitched his second complete game of the season, improving to 3-0, lowering his team leading ERA to 2.20, in the 6-1 win over Canada College. Maggiolo scattered five hits and struck out seven in an impressive performance.

Jimmy Parque doubled twice and drove in one, and Dan McCarthy collected three RBI, including his second home run of the season, a two run shot on the third to give Skyline a 4-0 lead. Chris Vargas and Taylor Heon also had run scoring hits in the game.


The Trojans (16-9, 5-4) play their next two games on the road at Gavilan College of Gilroy on Sat. March 29th at 12:00pm and CSM on Tuesday April 1st at 2:00pm.

Skyline hosted San Francisco City College and won 5-0 behind Matt Maggiolo's first complete game of the season. Jeff Ramirez and Jake Walter each had a pair of hits. Nick Borg and Jimmy Parque each drove in a run as Skyline took advantage of three City errors to score three more unearned runs in the win.

Maggiolo dominated, striking out nine while allowing just four hits, picking up his second win of the year and lowering his ERA to 3.60.
