Why Madrid?

EUSA Internships in Madrid are drawn from the vibrant, broad professional and cultural life of Madrid - from the sciences to the arts, from tourism to education. Madrid is a mixture of traditional business with innovative start-ups. Students experience the contrast between the past and present, gaining insights into the foundations of a culture that, through language, has created bonds across the Atlantic with other Spanish-speaking countries. Interns need an appropriate level of Spanish language for the workplace.

Internships in Madrid: May 29nd- July 20, 2024

Your exact internship is determined through a personalized one-on-one placement process as part of the application to the program. Students interning in Madrid are placed with companies ranging from global organizations, multinationals, and small non-profits or start-ups in a variety of industry sectors. A working-level of Spanish is highly recommended, and for most placements required, for the Madrid program. Sample internship placements may include:

  • Arts, Media and Culture: auction houses, art organizations, music, film/TV production, and newspapers/magazines*
  • Communications: advertising, digital/social media, event management, marketing, and  public relations
  •  Healthcare and Education*: Speech therapy, Physiotherapy, Addictions organizations, mental health advocacy organizations, Language schools, and online education channels.
  • Business: consultancies, financial services, food & beverage, hospitality & tourism, logistics
  • Politics, Law and NGOs: Law firms, environmental research groups, international organisations, national/international security, non-profit organisations, and Think Tanks.

Your placement advisor works one-on-one with you to find an internship that matches your career goals, interests, and experience level. You are guaranteed an internship placement in your country of choice. However, some fields are challenging to find internship placements in, especially if your experience is limited. This program is recommended for students who want to gain professional work experience and build their intercultural skills in their fields of interest but are open to alternative placements if their first-choice field does not offer a placement.
