Why Berlin

In Berlin, students have the chance to experience German professional culture in the booming start-up and tech sectors, or at multinational companies or nonprofits. Larger-than-life architecture, vibrant bars and restaurants, efficient public transportation, and friendly, English-speaking locals offer a compelling backdrop – and rich counterbalance – to a challenging internship experience.

"Berlin combines the culture of New York, the transit system of Tokyo, the nature of Seattle, and the historical treasures of, well, Berlin." - Hiroshi M., U.S. Law Professor

"During this internship, I learned to work as a team with my coworkers. I always considered myself more individualistic, but being able to work within a multicultural team has helped me build my communication skills and boost my confidence." - Nina E., Skyline College

Your exact internship is determined through a personalized one-on-one placement process as part of the application to the program. Students interning in Berlin are placed with companies ranging from innovative start-ups to global organizations and multinationals in a variety of industry sectors.

Exact opportunities can vary due to such factors as market trends, time of year, and economic outlook. Strong industry sectors for global internships in Berlin include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Business & Innovation: logistics, professional services, consulting, trade, and more
  • Marketing & Communications: public relations, social media, digital campaigns, and more

Your placement advisor works one-on-one with you to find an internship that matches your career goals, interests, and experience level.
