Description Announcement from John Hubbard and dated January 25, 1967, reads "A BENCH THAT LOVE BUILT -- Fredric A. Roehr, chairman of College of San Mateo music department, chats with students on campus bench newly dedicated in memory of Elmer H. (Bud) Young, beloved instructor in the department who died last September. Funds for the memorial, placed outside classrooms in courtyard where Mr. Young once spent hours discussing music with young men and women he taught, were raised by those grateful students and other friends. Mr. Young, a Woodside resident, had served on faculty 20 years and was credited with first introducing jazz course as part of the school's regular curriculum in Northern California. With Roehr, a close acquaintance of Mr. Young, are Laura Brownlee of Burlingame and Fred Palmer of Belmont"
