Singapore is a unique island city-state with a total population of 6 million people and is known as the "Garden City" in the world. It was ranked number one in the world in the Wall Street Journal and the Heritage Foundation’s Index of Economic Freedom in the past few years. It is one of the most globalized cities in the world and a dynamic gateway to Southeast Asia and Asia.

Why Singapore
As a global hub for business and innovation, Singapore attracts the world to the island and businesses from all sectors, including finance, technology, marketing, media and tourism. Many multinational corporations set their Asian headquarters there. Singapore owns excellent public transportation system and exciting diverse Asian/Western cultures. It is an English-speaking country and is a perfect place for a rewarding internship program.

Internships in Singapore: June 9 - August 3, 2024
Students intern in in Singapore are placed with companies ranging from innovative start-ups to global organizations, multinationals, and NGOs in a variety of industry sectors. Sample internship placements include:
- Business and Communications: marketing, operations, market research such as: brand communication; digital marketing; market research
- Information Technology and Computer Science: front-end and back-end coding, IT and technical customer support such as: API development; system development
- Nonprofit and NGO: Program development and management, think tanks and advocacy groups such as: public policy and international affairs; human rights and social justice
Program Fees
The fees to participate in this program are broken down into 1) program fees, which cover housing, advising, internship placement, orientations, cross-cultural activities program, professional development support, international medical and accident insurance and a variety of support services while abroad; 2) tuition (paid to Skyline College), for a three-unit degree-applicable course required for all Global Internship participants

Out-of-Pocket Expenses
In addition to the program fees and tuition outline above, you will need to budget for your out-of-pocket expenses. Below are estimated expenses; however, actual expenses will vary depending on your lifestyle and spending habits.

Program Eligibility
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.25 or higher (please note that certain majors may require a higher GPA; please inquire during your advising appointment)
- Have completed a minimum of 30 units of college level coursework prior to program
- It is your responsibility to obtain any necessary travel documentation for your program destination (i.e. passport, visa, etc). Your internship provider (AIC) works with each student to complete visa paperwork as needed. This may require you to pay fees of up to a few hundred dollars depending on the type of paperwork required.

The Global Career Center (GCC) brings more than two decades of experience partnering with educational institutions around the world, host organizations from a wide range of industries, and learners of all ages to connect employability and education through collaborative program development, comprehensive services delivery, and curated experiential education. GCC provides a personalized internship placement and supporting services for each student participant. The placement process and supporting services include an individual intake meeting, industry-specific resume review, customized employer outreach, facilitation of match with host organization, interview preparation, and coaching on topics ranging from skills articulation to professional communications. GCC networks reach throughout the United States and across the globe, providing program development guidance and student advising materials based on academic subjects or industry areas of greatest interest in light of local opportunities and considerations.
