Description	Portrait of Elio Fontana (Trustee) (from publicity release on Oct. 30, 1969) "Elio A. Fontana, North County business and civic leader, was appointed last night to the board of trustees of San Mateo Junior College District. He will serve out the unexpired term of office of U.S. Simonds Jr., who retired from the board last month. ...... Fittingly, Fontanta's selection was announced by the board at the first meeting in its history at new Skyline College, which opened in September ...... Trustees said many nominees were considered for the post. Fontana was chosen, they said, on the basis of his experience in educational leadership (he has been a member of the Jefferson Union High School District board for 19 years, including five terms as board president), his stature in the community and his knowledge of the North County." 1960's
