PRE-QUALIFICATION FOR DESIGN-BUILD ENTITIES
ADDENDUM 1
December 21, 2006
I. SUMMARY
This document contains requirements that clarify or supersede portions of the Pre-qualification Application.
II. RESPONSE TO QUESTIONS
In response to questions from interested contractors the following clarifications are being issued:
Question: What is the amount of the stipend and how will the stipend be allocated?
Answer: Upon determination that the Design-Build Entity has submitted a responsive proposal to the District’s published Request for Proposal, the District will award the contract to the Design-Build Entity which successfully demonstrates that their solution will provide the best value to the District. Stipends will be award to the firms that are not awarded the contract. In the event that a proposal is determined to be non-responsive, no stipend will be awarded.
The stipend amounts are anticipated to be as follows:
College of San Mateo - $100,000 each firm
Skyline College - $50,000 each firm
Question: Is the Owner’s Design-Build Agreement (Contract) on the District website?
Answer: The preliminary contract documents were posted on the District website on December 21, 2006. Please note that modifications to these contract documents are anticipated, to incorporate language that more comprehensively reflects the design-builder’s design responsibilities. These modifications have not been approved by legal counsel yet; however, interested parties may review the District’s standard Professional Services Agreement for an example of contract language that comprehensively reflects design responsibilities.
III. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PROVIDED BY OWNER
The Pre-qualification scoring matrix was posted on the District website on December 21, 2006.
