Hi everyone – in order to finish up some electrical upgrade work and bring a new Load Center on line that is nearing completion next to Bldg 9, a temporary power shutdown is necessary. We asked Swinerton and BNB Construction to schedule the power shutdown during a period that will minimize any impacts to the campus . . . the week when the campus is closed between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Building 7 (not the newer 7A Annex), Building 8, Building 9, Building 10 and Building 11 will be without power from Monday, December 26, to Friday, December 30 (total planned outage = 5 days).
This means Buildings 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 will have no lights, no heat, no air circulation, no computers, no phones, and no power at electrical outlets during this period of power outage.
Our other buildings on campus will not be affected by this power outage.
I’m putting this out now, as many of you will be taking off at the end of this week and not returning until January.
