PROJECT NAME:

Cañada College

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

North Quad Water Feature Project

SCHEDULE:

Monday, July 23 and Tuesday, July 24

CAMPUS IMPACT:

On Monday, July 23, starting at around 8 a.m., the contractor will be laying down some plywood on the concrete walkways between Building 9 and the fountain and between the fountain and the lawn. On the area south of the fountain, the contractor will be laying down steel plates. This is all in preparation for moving and setting the boulders at the fountain on Tuesday, July 24. The contractor will use an oversized forklift to move the boulders from their current location east of Building 22. This heavy equipment moving around our granite materials will generate some noise. Every effort will be made to minimize any disturbance generated.  Pedestrians are advised that on Tuesday, normal access to Building 18 will be greatly impacted. We suggest foot traffic circle around the west side of B17, up the back stairs there, around the front and across the bridge to 18. Understand that There will be construction personnel directing students and staff safely around the work areas. Also there will be activity at the amphitheater. Workers will be washing and staining the concrete, so the area will be cordoned off. Through passage should not be affected by this work.

Pedestrians are advised to exercise caution when walking near the job site while this activity is taking place. Some dust and noise are expected to be generated, but the contractor will continue to exert every effort to minimize any inconvenience that this activity might cause.

Thank you for your patience while we make these improvements.
