Biography The Persian poet Rumi wrote "Let the beauty of what you love be what you do," and happily I can say I love teaching. When I was in the fifth grade, I had a teacher I admired very much. At the end of each day when she would read to the class, a hush fell over the class as we were transported to another place and time. Reading was a magic carpet, and I was hooked. From that time on, I knew I wanted to be an English teacher. I went to Ohio State University where I majored in English and history. After graduating from Ohio State, I came to California to teach and to attend graduate school. I have taught in several other places in the U.S., but I especially enjoy the wide range of diversity we have here at Skyline and in the Bay Area. After teaching English for several years, I returned to graduate school in order to obtain the Reading Specialist Credential for adults. This credential combined with my education and background has prepared me to help my students to succeed. Education
