Course Information

 

Course Overview:

Objective: To develop an understanding for and experience with various components, techniques and strategies of communication, specifically in a one on one environment. The class time will be divided between lecture, discussion and activities. This class fulfills the CSU A1; Oral Communications requirement or
the IGETC Area 1; group C. requirement.

Assignments:

This class requires 10 homework assignments and a final exam. There will also be regular in-class activities which will require participation.

A= 200-180 B= 179-160 C= 159-140 D= 139-120

 

 

Attendance:

MWF sections: Regular attendance is a requirement of this course. Attendance will be taken daily the first ten minutes  of class.  You are allowed SIX absences. On the SEVENTH absence, your final grade will be dropped 10 points and 10 points every absence after that.  On your TENTH absence, you will be dropped from the class roster. You must file a drop card with admissions or you will receive a fail in the class. These six absences are the only ones excused and must be used for all circumstances requiring you to miss class.
