Welcome to Professor Sullivan's Virtual Office! It's under construction. But the Doors Are Always Open! Come on in!
Professor Sullivan has taught English composition for twenty-five years, twenty years at Skyline College. He has taught all levels of composition, from Remedial and Developmental to transfer Composition, Composition and Literature, and Advanced Composition and Critical Thinking. While at Skyline he has also been a regular in faculty governance activities, serving as Chapter Chair of the American Federation of Teachers Local. In addition, he has involved himself in Academic Senate. First elected to the Academic Senate Governing Council at Skyline in 1985, he has served on that Council in various capacities, including Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, Language Arts Division representative, and member of the Educational Policy Committee, as well as the College Council and the Planning and Budget Committee of Skyline College. Professor Sullivan is a 1967 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where he received his B.A. cum laude in English Literature. He earned his M.A. from San Francisco State University. He continued his education with a tour of duty in Vietnam where he served, albeit without enthusiasm, in Military Intelligence with the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He went on to receive the Higher Diploma in Anglo-Irish Literature from Trinity College Dublin. And he did research towards the Ph.D in Anglo-Irish Literature at University College Dublin. He and his wife Julie met at Notre Dame and have been married 36 years. Julie has her degree in Art History from UCLA. Jeremy, their son, born in 1971, is a graduate of U.C Davis. He earned his Masters Degree in Information Science from San Jose State University. Jeremy married Ms. Denise Donlon on October 11. Professor Sullivan looked fine in his tuxedo.
