SUMMER 2003 DISTRICTWIDE RENOVATION PROJECTS

 NOTICE TO GENERAL CONTRACTORS CALLING FOR PRE-QUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS FOR PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the San Mateo County Community College District of San Mateo County, California, will receive up to, but not later than Tuesday, April 1, at 4:00 p.m., a sealed Pre-Qualification Application for approval to bid on upcoming public works project at the San Mateo County Community College District.  Only contractors with a “B” license and who have been approved through this pre-qualification process will be eligible to bid the following public works project:

Each project is estimated to have a construction cost of approximately $200,000 -$300,000 each.  Each project will be bid separately, to general contractors determined to be pre-qualified.  Further information and applications may be obtained from the District’s website at http://www.smccd.edu/accounts/facilities 

A Mandatory Prequalification conference will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at 11:00am at Swinerton Management & Consulting’s offices at College of San Mateo, 1700 West Hillsdale Blvd, Building 6, San Mateo, CA.  Attendance at the prequalification conference is mandatory for General Contractors attempting to become prequalified to bid on the advertised projects.

 This addendum is issued and affects the General Contractor Prequalification for the following projects:

This General Contractor Prequalification will also apply to other, similar renovation projects within the San Mateo County Community College District, up to a construction value of $500,000.  These projects have not been identified as of the publication of this prequalification application.  Each future, comparable project will be bid, lump sum, to the prequalified pool of general contractors.  The prequalified list of general contractors resulting from this prequalification application is to be effective from approximately May 1, 2003 through April 30, 2004.

All other requirements of the Prequalification publication remain unchanged and in effect.
