Subject: Construction Notice - Detours on the Loop Road for Pavement Repairs - Saturday, February 11

                        

The roadway repairs to the Loop Road have not been progressing as smoothly as we had hoped – mainly due to some wet weather delays.   It looks like we have a ‘dry spell’ this week and will have a nice dry weekend coming up . . . . so here’s the updated plan . . . .  

On Saturday, February 11 January 21  –  there will be one-way detours on the  Loop Road to allow the contractor, Interstate Paving and Grading, to layer new pavement onto the sections they have repaired.  This one-way detour will occur this Saturday only, February11 January 21.

Please open the attached file that shows a campus map and the area on the Loop Road that will be restricted to one-lane-one-directional traffic.      

The section of the Loop Road that we usually keep closed near Building 5 with the two swing gates across the road will be open on that Saturday to allow traffic to navigate around the campus along that frontage.

Swinerton and the construction contractor will make sure signage is posted to alert vehicles of the road closure and detour routes.  Sajid Sulaiman (our Swinerton Project Engineer at x7022) will be managing this project.

Please allow yourself and our Saturday-class students some extra time if you navigate your way to and from campus via the Marisol housing development area this Saturday.
