Michele Rudovsky has recently joined the Construction and Planning Department as a Project Engineer.  Michele joins CPD from the San Francisco Zoo where she spent the majority of her life caring for rare and endangered animals, strengthening husbandry standards within the animal management field, and educating the Zoo’s next generation of Animal Keepers.  Michele earned an A.S. degree from our own Skyline College and a B.S. degree in Organizational Behavior from the University of San Francisco.

Michele has been involved with a number of new construction and renovation projects at the San Francisco Zoo ranging in size from $10,000 to $18 Million.  Her contributions have included planning processes that identify user needs, the development of conceptual design, working with architects to refine design and finalize construction documents, construction oversight, and the populating and opening of exhibits.  A sampling of projects include the new African Savanna exhibit, the new Hospital Quarantine and Holding facilities, renovation of the Bison Paddock in Golden Gate park, and the renovation of the Rhino and Hippo exhibits.
