Linda received her baccalaureate degree from the University of California at Berkeley, her master of business administration degree from San Francisco State University and is a California State licensed general contractor. Linda started working at SMCCCD in 1997, performing construction management services for the Facilities Department. In 2000, she became the Director of Facilities Maintenance & Operations. Key achievements in that role include: development of technical and safety training programs, a solid waste management program in compliance with State waste reduction guidelines, an indoor air quality management program, an employee handbook and quarterly newsletter, the Facilities Excellence Rewards Program, creation of a website to enhance public relations and disseminate information, standard contract forms for professional design services and construction, and successful completion of the first phase of the District’s 12 year, $800 million capital construction program.
In an adjunct faculty position at Cañada College, Linda developed the curriculum for and provided instruction in the certification program for facilities maintenance engineers. Linda was founding principle of a commercial and residential construction firm in San Francisco, and has previously held stationary engineering positions in Class A office space environments.
“I’m thrilled to be able to synergize my knowledge and experience in facilities management, maintenance and construction in my role in the Construction Planning Department. The Planning Department’s commitment to quality in capital construction planning and smooth transitions to facilities operations enables SMCCCD to create first-class teaching and learning environments in support of its position as a leader in the California community college system.” |
