Joe was born and raised in the great state of Tennessee. He spent the first 18 years of his life thinking that it was perfectly normal to have no less than 65 close relatives living within a 30 mile radius and having them drop by at all hours of the day and night unannounced and without knocking on the door. At 18 he joined the navy and it was then that he realized that if he could experience more privacy and personal space on a 500 foot long ship at sea populated by approx. 500 other sailors than he did in his previous 18 years then his future would need a retooling.
Upon discharge from the service Joe went back to Tennessee to attend the University of Tennessee Knoxville. He graduated in 1992 with a degree in Architecture and quickly moved to Seattle. He spent the first 7 years in Seattle working for various architecture firms. At some point he moved into the field of project management owner side. This has been his job for the last 7 years. The majority of his work has been with K-12 school districts ranging from the Seattle School District to most recently the Mount Diablo Unified School District. He has been involved in all aspects of the project from initial conceptual design to project close out.
He currently lives on a sailboat on Alameda Island. He plans to cast off the lines in the not too distant future and head over the horizon……or at least to Mexico.
