Jennifer James is a Project Coordinator II for the Construction Planning Department. Jennifer began working at SMCCCD in 2000 as a Buyer for the Department of General Services. In this role she has been responsible for the purchasing functions for the College of San Mateo and Skyline College. In addition to individual campus responsibilities she has provided leadership for Districtwide projects involving equipment roll out, costs and budget status for the Faculty and Staff Housing project, fixed asset accounting and major equipment bid and purchasing for new construction. Jennifer holds an Associate of Arts degree from Springfield Junior College and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois.
Prior to joining SMCCCD Jennifer worked for 20 years in the horticulture industry. This experience ranged from being owner and operator of a retail plant store in San Francisco to Buyer/Greenhouse Manager for one of the Bay Area’s leaders in the interiorscape industry. She has served as operation manager for interior horticultural contracts for multiple Bay Area renovations.
