Glenn Claycomb is a Project Manager for Skyline College projects. He brings more than 30 years experience in all aspects of construction financing, design engineering, contracting, and management. For several years he had overall project management responsibility with UC San Francisco, and he coordinated the state capital outlay process at UC’s Office of the President. His engineering expertise is in mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, commissioning, and sustainable design. Projects have included laboratories, office and classroom buildings of all sorts, computer centers, restaurants, retail stores, and major infrastructure improvements.
Glenn received a BA in French from the University of Colorado in 1971 and a BS in Engineering from San Francisco State University in 1978. He is registered in both mechanical and fire protection engineering and is a LEED Accredited Professional. He has been involved in the design and construction of several LEED facilities, including one at Ohlone College which is on track to receive a Platinum rating. He was on the team that led workshops at UC Santa Barbara to develop the Campus Sustainability Plan, has taught classes in mechanical engineering for interior designers at the UC Berkeley Extension, and has worked on projects and master plans at the College of Marin, Cabrillo College, Contra Costa College, and LA Southwest College, as well as CSU and UC campuses.
“I believe education is the most valuable thing we can offer our young people, so I’m delighted to put my skills at the service of the SMCCCD. My role is to work with all the parties involved in construction—faculty, staff, architects, engineers, contractors, code officials, inspectors—to meld their contributions into the delivery of facilities that successfully support our academic mission.”
