Dat started to work at the District as a student assistant for the General Services Department in 2005. During this time, he had transitioned and streamlined a majority of electronic documents. He also redesigned the department's website, and was instrumental in the launch of the surplus auction site "S-cove" which improves the District's surplus processes. In addition, he created electronic-based interactive databases which allow vendors and department's staff communicate more efficiently - saving time and cost in operation.

In May 2007, Dat moved to Construction Planning Department as a Project Coordinator working part-time. He’s studying Economics and pursuing a Master of Business Administration.
