Alex Acenas joins the Construction Planning team as a Project Manager whose initial projects include the Cañada College Gateways, Circulation and Parking project, Cañada College Building 8 Renovation Phase 2 and Skyline College Buildings 1/2/5 Space Planning.

Alex comes to SMCCCD from the City of Daly City, working in the Public Works Department, where he managed the design and construction of numerous city facilities including citywide parks improvements, the Hillside Park Clubhouse, Gellert Field Park Improvement, the new Fire Station No. 92 and the soon-to-be completed War Memorial Community Center and John Daly Library.

Alex earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of the Philippines and has a Master’s degree in Architecture from UCLA. Prior to Daly City, Alex worked in various local architectural firms. He is a California Licensed Architect and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
