SMCCCD Wins DBIA "Magic of Design-Build" Award

On May 29, 2008, the San Mateo County Community College District will be awarded the Design-Build Institute of America's (DBIA) Magic of Design-Build Award. The award is for Building 36, the new Science Building and Planetarium located at the College of San Mateo. These remarkable buildings were completed in 2006. Additional details about this award will be made available after the the awards ceremony in May.

The award honors projects in California, Nevada, Hawaii and Arizona that exemplify the principles of interdisciplinary teamwork,innovation,and problem solving that characterize design-build delivery.

The DBIA is an association of leaders in the design and construction industry who utilize design-build and integrated project delivery methods to achieve high performance project completion..
