462 CSM Building 16 Modernization

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Asbestos Abatement Work

A certified hazardous material contractor will be removing asbestos containing building materials from Building 16 starting Friday afternoon. Most of the material is contained in the glues holding floor tile on the second floor. All asbestos containing materials will be bagged and removed in compliance with state requirements. A dump truck will occupy two parking spaces right outside the parking lot entrance to Building 16 and be used for non-asbestos containing materials that are demolished in conjunction with this work.

On Saturday, a qualified testing firm will conduct air quality tests to confirm no contaminants have been released as part of this work.

SCHEDULE:

Friday, October 12th through Monday morning, October 15th

CAMPUS IMPACT:

DSPS has been informed and will not be on the premises. The building will be closed and pedestrians will need to use alternate pathways between the buildings.
