Course Description: Reading and writing about women’s experience in a variety of genres. Course may be repeated to a maximum of 3 units. May be taken on a Credit/No Credit basis or for a letter grade either as a writing course (English 166 SX, CRN 38857) or a literature course (Literature 166 SX, CRN 38858). Transfer: UC, CSU. (0.5 units).

Course Co-Requisites: Registration and attendance at the 2008 WOW! Conference, Saturday, March 1. Conference fee of $25 is not included in the course fees. You must also attend one class meeting, on Saturday, February 23, from 10:30-noon

Required Writing Assignments: You will keep a reading/listening journal and write an essay related to one of the listed books with an emphasis on the work as literature for Lit 166 or as a study for the writing of memoir, poetry, travel, or fiction for Eng 166. Journals and essays are due on or before April 27.
