Up to 20 hours per week at $16.22 per hour

• A cover letter that summarizes applicant qualifications as they relate directly to the Requirements section below 
• Letter of recommendation to tutor from instructor of discipline

DUTIES:

Under supervision of the Director of The Learning Center, graduate tutors will be responsible for assisting students in specific subject areas; tutoring students one-on-one and in small groups; assisting the specific lab/program coordinator in the development and application of supplemental subject area instruction; assisting students in the use of instructional materials, including media and computers; assisting in the presentation of workshops and study groups; and attending weekly training (must enroll in Learning Skills 110).

REQUIREMENTS:

Enrolled in a graduate program in the subjects to be tutored or a closely related field; a letter grade of B or higher in the subject area to be tutored; extensive public contact with people from diverse cultures, language groups and abilities; demonstrated skill in effective oral and written communication; and possession of a Bachelor's degree in the specific subject area to be tutored or a closely related field, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
