MINUTES
AUGUST 15, 2005
Meeting was called to order at 3:40 p.m. A call was made for the public for non-agenda items. None were given. Agenda was adopted and approved.
President Carla Campillo presented the M.O.T. dates for fall 2005. The M.O.T. participants lunch will be held on Friday, October 7th. Participants will depart for Los Angeles on Sunday, October 9th and return Tuesday, October 11th. A de-brief will be held Wednesday, October 12th. An e-mail will be sent out on Monday, August 22nd.
Carla stressed the importance of having all committees in place early in the fall semester.
All Governing Council members were introduced.
Ray Hernandez discussed the Accreditation process and role of the Steering Committee. It was announced that there are 40 participants for the Student Learning Outcomes Workshop. Included in this discussion were issues regarding the timeline for the fall 2006 visit: writing teams, Student Learning Outcomes (SLO), use of technology, WEB site and student involvement.

Friday, November 4th Transfer Day
Spring 2006 -- Student
Hall of Fame event

Future agenda items included: updates on Construction, Degree Audit, California Tomorrow, marketing issues for programs and web site management.
