What is a personal statement? Will you even need one? Most universities require it as part of their admissions application. This is also a key component to determining your eligibility for many scholarships. Come find out how to write one!

Information will be given to access resources such as the Skyline College Career Center in picking a major. Hear from various students from different career paths and how they decided to follow their goal. Presentations will be given from departments such as: Respiratory Therapy, Nursing, Business, Cosmetology, Automotive, and Athletics.

Find out about Guaranteed Transfer Programs, scholarships and financial aid for transfer students. Taught by the Transfer Center Coordinator, this course will help you discover great transfer opportunities, take the right courses, and pick the university that will be best for you.

Transitioning from the high school environment to college is one of the biggest challenges you’ll have to face. Students will leave with an awareness and understanding of the importance of a sense of self, respect, and acceptance.

11. The Transformational Power of Dreams: What Will You Become?
Everybody has dreams; dreams of becoming famous, rich and successful. In this workshop, you will learn the tools that can help you lay the foundation upon which you can build your life. Remember that when you choose to pursue your dreams, it is not what you may achieve, or what you may conquer that will give meaning and significance to your life, but what you will become in the process. Great workshop for students and parents to attend.

12. Cash for College
Specifically geared for high school seniors, this session will inform you on how to apply for financial aid so you can fund your educational goal. During this session you will learn about the FAFSA, the deadlines associated with the Cal Grants, and other financial aid sources. Participants will have the opportunity to win a $1000 scholarship from the Cash for College campaign.
