3. CATALOG DESCRIPTION:
Each student's personal needs determine an instructional program that
may include tutoring, computer-assisted-instruction, and small group
practice. Students will receive assistance on supplementary
assignments to improve word analysis, vocabulary, comprehension, and
study skills as well as assistance on the reading assigned in their
other courses. Repeatable up to 6 units and open entry.
4. OVERALL AIMS:
This class is open to any student in need of reading assistance.
Generally, students should improve their reading skills and
ultimately succeed in their coursework.
5. SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES:
This course will assist students on an individual basis to:
-Improve comprehension and vocabulary;
-Practice reading strategies;
-Implement study skills;
-Reinforce coursework as needed.
