Present: Linda Allen, Roxanne Brewer, Barbara Daley, Donna Elliott, Pablo Gonzalez, Linda Herda, Linda Kisich, Barbara Lamson, Adolfo Leiva, Mandy Liang, Felix Perez, Julene Rhoan, Theresa Tentes, and Kathy Z-Taylor. Guests: Cathy Hasson, Shelly Hausman, and Sandy Irber.

Minutes of May 4, 2006 meeting were approved as submitted.

Treasurer’s Report: Theresa Tentes reported that we have a balance in our account of $2960.71, not including funds set aside for Scholarships and retirement plaques. Since the Classified Council purchased a banner last year with the old logo, Linda Allen will ask the President’s Council if there is any funding available for buying a new banner with the new logo.

Fundraisers:

• Roxanne Brewer and Mandy Liang have volunteered to be the co-chairs for an upcoming bake sale. October 2, 2006 was selected for the date. People are asked to bring home made goodies for the sale, wrapped in packages that will fit the selling price of $1.00. People can also donate cans of juice or handy crafts that can also be sold.
• Classified Council is looking for volunteers to organize these fundraisers
• Turkey Raffle – In November, before Thanksgiving
• Gift Boutique with home made crafts that can be held around Christmas
• Sees Candy sale for Valentines Day.
• If you have an idea for a fundraiser, please contact Linda Allen or attend the next Classified Council meeting.

Skyline Classified Retreat: The Classified Council would like to hold the Skyline Classified Retreat in November. Pablo Gonzalez is looking for a location.

Accreditation Committee: The committee is currently proof reading the written work as the writing teams continue working on the reports.

College Council Meeting Report: Linda Herda passed out copies of the College Council Annual Report 2005-2006 for our review.

Museum of Tolerance: Cody Pelletier sent out an email asking people who are interested in participating in the MOT to email him. He is trying to see if there is still interest in the MOT program. Please send him an email if you are interested in attending a MOT in the future.

Guest Speakers:

• Cathy Hassan spoke to the Classified Council about the Staff Survey that will be sent to each Skyline employee. Please complete the survey and return them by Sept. 22, 2006. There will be a drop box in each Division Office or you can drop off or mail the survey to Cathy. Cathy will return to a Classified Council meeting with the results.
• Sandy Irber and Shelly Hausman joined the Classified Council meeting to review the Logo Usage Guidelines and they supplied answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. You can download the new logo from the district web site at http://smcweb.smccd.net/portal/Logos/Forms/AllItems.aspx. Look for upcoming workshops, in October, on how to use the logo.

Next meeting will be Thursday, October 5, 2006, 2:00-3:00 PM in Room 2220
