Guests: Jennifer Hughes, Dean of Counseling Services, Diana Cushway, Dance Department.

Minutes of November 4, 2004 meeting were reviewed and approved.

Announcements

Holiday gift baskets will be on display in A & R starting sometime the week of November 29^th. Ticket sales will begin December 1^st. The drawing will be held on Wednesday, December 8. Cathy Welch is still collecting items for the baskets.

Guest, Jennifer Hughes, dean of Counseling Services gave us a brief overview and explanation of the Student Access & Success Committee. This is a shared governance committee, formed in the fall of 2000. Three Classified Staff are on the committee: Linda Allen, Anyta Archer and Sandra Kirkpatrick. They are working on a Student Equity Plan that is due in Sacramento in January 2005 covering the following major areas: 1. How the North County population is reflected in our own campus population; making sure that our recruitment and outreach efforts are working and that no student group is under represented. 2. Course completion rate based on basic, vocational and transferable courses using age, gender and ethnicity indicators. 3. Degree and certificate completion rate. 4. Transfer Students- how many of our students transfer and where do they go. 5. ESOL classes and basic skills class needs 6. Workforce development and employment opportunities for our students.

Guest, Diana Cushway, chair of the Skyline Dance Department presented a half hour Stress Buster workshop. She covered abdominal breathing techniques, meditation, walking meditation and relaxation/self-hypnosis.

Next meeting will be Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 2:00 PM. This will be a welcome reception for our new college president, Victoria Morrow. Refreshments will be served.
