Welcome by new President, Donna Elliott

 

Goals for Classified Council

Donna Elliott presented her goals for the upcoming year. She would like to: 1) More involvement in Classified Council by all classified staff. The bar-b-que scheduled for Thursday, July 15 is the first scheduled activity for this year.

2) More visiblity in committees and in activities. Linda Herda will check with Kinko’s to get the price of a large 6’ x 3’ banner to use for all Classified Council activities.

4) to be more respected

 

Ad Hoc Committees

Which committees should be Ad Hoc and which should be standing committees?

By laws and mission statement could be one ad hoc committee. The by-laws need to be revised/expanded with more specifics. There needs to be rules to follow regarding financial decisions.

A retreat committee might need to be an ongoing standing committee. We will need to look into a one day retreat locally and

A fundraising committee might also need to be a standing committee also. We might want to consider limiting the number of fundraisers to a couple of bake sales and maybe raffle off baskets twice a year. Theresa will check on a possible date for a bake sale for the beginning of fall semester.

We need to check into forming a Web site for Classified Council.

 

Next meeting: Thursday, August 12, 2 PM. Charles Jones from CSEA will attend our meeting to give us more info on Shared Governance.
