Committee Reports

DITC - An e-mail report was submitted by Anyta Archer, who was unable to attend this meeting.  The District Instructional Technology Committee will be meeting next Monday 2/7/05.  On the agenda: Product Demos for Underwrite, Acc Verify and Radioshark, Updates on Learning Management System and Status of minimum standards for faculty computing and Discussion on Accessibility Awareness.

Budget/Finance Committee for the District – Anyta ArcherÕs e-mail on this committee let us know that chairperson, Karen Blackwood reported that the State ChancellorÕs Office has declined the DistrictÕs request to be funded up to its actual enrollment, regardless of cap.  Agreement was reached however, that the DistrictÕs growth rate and itsÕ base revenue limit will not be deficited because local ERAF funding is available from the county.  Even though the District offered to return its basic skills funding, the State determined that removing the DistrictÕs enrollment cap would be perceived as not being fair to other districts.  It is estimated that this decision will cost the District approximately $3 million.  Kathy Blackwood indicted that she estimates the District will be over itsÕ cap by approximately 50 FTES in 03-04.

IPC – Kathy Z-Taylor had no report as the committee has not held a recent meeting.

MOT Alumni Film Festival – Flyers and posters are out on campus advertising this event happening on February 9th.  Everyone is strongly encouraged to attend.

Classified Staff Spring Retreat – All Classified Staff recently received a printed invitation to the District Staff Development Retreat being held at the Flamingo Hotel in Santa Rosa on March 10-12.  Linda Herda reported on SkylineÕs Classified Staff Retreat.  It will be held on Friday, April 8th at the Best Western Lighthouse Hotel at Rockaway Beach in Pacifica.  Presenters from CSEA will hold morning and afternoon workshops.  Donna Elliott will being sending out printed and e-mail flyers for sign-ups soon.  The retreat will be limited to 45 participants.

Staff Development Funds -Theresa Tentes has taken over the paperwork on this account from Cathy Welch who retired.  Any Classified Staff looking for reimbursement for Staff development should contact Theresa.

Next meeting will be Thursday, March 3, 2:00 PM in room 1310.  William Watson from Workforce Development will make a presentation on his program at this meeting.

Respectfully submitted, Linda Herda.
