Minutes from November 6, 2003 meeting were approved.
OfficerÕs Search Committee
Committee members are Barbara
Daley and Felix Perez.
TreasurerÕs
Report
Six
hundred dollars has been set aside for the Classified Staff Scholarship Fund, leaving
a balance of $3549.93. We plan to do an Easter/Spring Basket Raffle in April. Specifics
on this fundraiser will be discussed at the next meeting.
Skyline
Classified Staff Retreat
We
have reserved a meeting room in Pacifica at the Best Western Lighthouse
Hotel/Ristorante Portofino (formerly MoonrackerÕs).
SAVE THE DATE
Friday, March 26, 2004
The
retreat includes morning snacks, workshop/presentation on the topic of
Communications, lunch, workshop, and an afternoon hike. Approximate total cost
is $2000. Various funding options are being explored. We are in the process of
seeking presenter/s. When we have more details worked out Theresa Tentes will
put out a flyer to all Classified Staff.
Committee Reports
College
Council
The
November Ice Cream Social was an event sponsored by the Classified Council,
Academic Senate, Associated Students, and Administrators and held in the Quad
to disseminate information about SkylineÕs College Council. Each organization
put $25 towards this event. New signs will be posted on campus regarding the
new 20 feet from building smoking law. Asbestos abatement is still in progress
in Buildings 1 & 2. Dr. Bernie Blackman of the Office of Planning,
Research, and Student Success has produced the Year-End Annual Report Work Plan
for 2003-04 and the Proposed Work Plan for 2004-05. Phyllis Porcar has a copy of each in her office and anyone who is
interested in seeing/borrowing them may do so. Two handouts were distributed: a
listing of Skyline College Councils and a Compendium of Skyline College Committees.
Health
and Safety Committee
Sherri
Hancock is the new chairperson for this committee. The next meeting will be in
February.
Skyline
EEOAC
There
are two spring semester dates for The Museum of Tolerance: March 21-23 ÐSandy
Kirkpatrick and Felix Perez will attend. May 9-11 Ð Caryn Goldman and Chris
Weidman will attend.
CSEA
News
New
CSEA President is Charles Jones, effective January 1, 2004.
Next Meeting: Thursday, February 5, 2004, Room 5131.
