In this class you'll learn to write engaging essays which clearly express your thoughts on a topic--essays which exhibit coherent paragraph development, fluent sentence structure, mechanical accuracy, and thoughtful, logical analysis of assigned topics.

Along the way, you'll discover what makes fine writing and learn about the various processes writers use in order to write well. You'll learn how to read, think, and write critically--how

to delve into a topic, ask questions, make discoveries, how to imply, infer or remain ambiguous about a point. You'll understand the importance of writing drafts (which allow you to discover and organize your thoughts), and of rewriting (which allows you to clearly communicate your discoveries to a reader).
