MART420: 3D Modeling & Animation I |
HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT 2 |
MART 420 – 3D Animation and Modeling I Fall 2008 Homework assignment #2a: Design a character and an object you wish to model during this semester. Sketch out at least two poses of the character and one angle of the object Your character should be a simple “sausage” character with one item of apparel (tie, hat, gloves, etc). Think early Hanna-Barbera: Yogi Bear, Huckleberry, Mr. Jinx. Your object should work well in an indoor setting and be complex enough that you will need to spend some time modeling it – it can't be a simple primitive shape, in other words. No boxes, balls, or donuts :0) Homework assignment #2b: Using the simplified drawing techniques I demonstrated in class, storyboard an action for your character that has him/her/it interacting with your object. KEEP IT SIMPLE! It's easy to get carried away at this point – storyboard a sequence that you feel confident you can animate in a relatively short time. Your character design drawing, object drawing, and storyboard drawings are due by the date listed on the main homework page at the beginning of class. You may hand in digital files or photocopies – DO NOT hand in original drawings. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Reading assignment: Read Project 2 Lesson 7 – Polygonal modeling. |
