I earned a Bachelors of Arts in History from the University of California at Berkeley. I have also earned a Masters of Science in Library Science (MSLS) from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. My background in the library science field includes working as a education librarian at a CSU library and as a special collections librarian while working in professional librarian residency program.

The required textbook for all my classes is The College Student's Research Companion: Finding, Evaluating and Citing the Resources You Need to Succeed by Arlene Quartiello. ISBN: 9781555707293. This is the 5th edition of this book. Past editions are very different and won't work for this class. You can buy this book at the CSM bookstore or it is available from many different online bookstores. You have reading to do for this first week so buy it as soon as you can.
You also need a Peninsula System library card. If you have one already, make sure it's still active - they do expire, but all you need to do is visit any PLS library and update your information that they will renew your card.
If you don't have a PLS library card, you can obtain one from any public library in San Mateo County. If you don't live in San Mateo County, you can still get a card that's available to distance education students.
UPDATE 6/14/2013: If you are on the waitlist, you should be checking your school email account. If a space in the class becomes available, the notification will be sent to that account and you will have a limited time (24 hours) to enroll in the class. If you are not on the waitlist, it may open again, depending on the movement of students. Check the WebSchedule often.
