Some personal information about me. . .

Yes, that's me! Although this picture was taken a few years ago, I haven't changed too much. I'm a bit taller, a bit wider, and oh, a whole lot older. I am trying hard to get back to this mindset though! Do you really want to know more? See below!

After graduating from the University of Wyoming with a B.S. in Business Education, I moved to Denver, Colorado, and taught at a private business college for a few years. Desiring a change of scenery, I came to San Francisco about 25 years ago. I began teaching at a private business school in San Francisco and then decided to go back to school. I earned an MBA with a concentration in Accounting and Computers from San Francisco State in 1989.

I have been teaching at Skyline College in the Business Division since 1989. I've taught a wide variety of courses in the Office Administration, Data Processing, and Accounting Departments. Teaching is an exciting and stimulating experience because you are constantly learning, especially from your students. I enjoy working on the computer and my job forces me to constantly upgrade and learn new skills. As an educator, I feel the Internet is one of the most exciting tools to come along with unlimited potential in the field of education.

In the Fall of 1999 I was hired as the first Vocational/Technical Coordinator for the Business Division. This was a new position with a variety of duties. My primary responsibility was assisting the Business Division Dean. I served as the Curriculum Committee Chair and Skyline's representative to the District Curriculum Committee (check out our Curriculum Committee Web site http://www.smccd.net/accounts/skycurr/). I was appointed to the Strategic Planning Committee and the FTE Hiring Allocation Committee, served on a Tenure Review Committee as well as faculty peer evaluation committees, and assisted the Business Dean with curriculum and scheduling for the Division.

In the summer of 2002 I began serving as the Interim Dean of the Business Division. Two years later I applied for and was hired as the permanent Dean of the Business Division and continue to servie in that position.
