HW: 1) Preview The Kite Runner by reading the front and back covers, the beginning information about the author, beginning comments on the book before the title page, and the discussion questions at the end. Bring the book to class next week.
2) Newsweek article of your choice. Make sure it fits into one of the portfolio category sections. Also do the 3 – 5 words for the “Weird Words” section.

If you choose a Newsweek essay, write a summary/response essay as we did with “A Simple Twist of Faith.”
If you choose a news article, use the Supplement response sheet, pages 101 – 102D.
