Brother Buzz

This was my first band when I was in college.  We reunited in May 2004 for a jam session.

Madness: Alive in the Hive:  A late night jam.  I added the “vocals” later in my studio, based on a radio broadcast Andy did.

Cold Sweat

A R&B dance band I played with for a few years.

    Eric : Guitar

The Chakras

A meditation on the seven Chakras.  Recorded in 1990 on a four-track cassette deck.  Boy, I sure miss that Mini-Moog synthesizer!

PratyaharaGoing Within, the transition process of directing the attention inward.  The meditator passes through the sounds of the outer world, the sounds of the physical and astral bodies, to contact the power within the spine.

MuladharaThe First Chakra, is located at the base of the spine.  Associated with the Earth element, this chakra controls the basic survival processes and is the seat of the energy in the spine.  Its fundamental sound is a low, warm hum.

Svadhisthana: The Second Chakra, is located in the spine at the level of the reproductive organs.  Associated with the Water element, this chakra is the seat of specific personality and creativity.  Its fundamental sound is a smooth, flowing flute-like tone.

Zoron Zope

These tracks were recorded live at a show we did at the University of San Francisco in May, 1983.  The recording process consisted of me laying a cheap portable cassette recorder at the edge of the stage.

BTB:  Composed and sung by bassist Kevin Boles.

Toothbrush:  Composed and sung by bassist Kevin Boles.

Personnel:  Eric Larson: Guitar, Keyboards, Vocals;  Kevin Boles: Bass, Vocals; Andy Conway: Drums, Vocals

Cosmo Topper

This band morphed from a rock ‘n roll dance band to a studio project of all originals.

Faces in the Rain:  Composed and sung by Barry Newberger

Pilot to Copilot:  Composed and sung by Eric

The Park:  Composed and sung by Eric. Additional vocals by Jan (I don't remember her last name).  This song was done during my "Carlos Castaneda phase."  It's long, so be patient on the download.  The Park is only for the adventurous.

Atom and Eve:  How can you not love a song that starts out, "Well, my college education didn't help me much when The Bomb changed our way of life..."  Composed and sung by Barry.

Faded Yellow Ribbon:  A recent effort (2009), composed by Barry Newberger.  This one goes out to all the Vets!

Personnel: Barry Newberger: Bass, Vocals; Eric: Guitar, Keyboards, Vocals; Various Drummers

Sitar

I studied Indian Classical music for several years while in graduate school in Los Angeles.  I recently "unearthed" this tape which is the only recording I have of my playing.  It's the last part of a 20 minute composition.

Raga Yaman - Jhala Jhala is usually the climax of a raga performance.  Jef Feldman went on to become quite a notable tabla player.  I, unfortunately, neglected my studies.

Personnel:  Eric Larson, Sitar;  Jef Feldman, Tabla;  Vinnie Golia, Tamboura

All music is copyright the respective composers and performers.  Please do not use these recordings without permission.
