Free Math Help on Campus

The Learning Center on the second floor of building 9 has free drop in tutoring. The hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 8 PM and Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM.

You can also make an appointment in the Tutoring Center for free one-on-one tutoring. The Tutoring Center is also located in the Learning Center. You can make appointments online using WebSMART.
FREE online & phone tutoring
Students can contact the Tutor Center up to three (3) times per night by any combination of phone, fax, email or interactive web. Students will receive up to 15 minutes of tutor attention per contact.
Sign up at Pearson Tutor Services to begin using the service. You will need your CourseCompass username and password to register. You can contact them at 1-800-877-3016 or tutor@pearson.com

A mastery quiz on 7.3-7.5 will be on Thursday, 4/16 and another on 7.6 & 7.7 will be on Tuesday, 4/21. Calculators are NOT allowed on these two quizzes.

The study guide for the second midterm has been posted. We will also have a mastery quiz on 6.2 & 6.3 on Thursday, 3/19. (This will allow you to retake the quiz on Tuesday, 3/24 before Thursday's test, if necessary.) Because of the work involved in these problems, there will only be 2, but you need to get both right to pass.

The quiz on chapter 2 will be on Tuesday, February 10. It will cover order of operations, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing real numbers including fractions! No calculators are allowed on this quiz. To get an idea of the types of problems to expect, see #1 - 40 and 54 - 59 on pages 110 and 111 of your textbook. Also, our first midterm covering chapters 1, 2 and section 3.1 will be on Tuesday, 2/17. I will provide you with more details next week.
1/20/2009 -- Extra Credit Assignment!
To get you signed up for and familiar with MyMathLab, this assignment requires you to obtain an access code, register, and take a brief (one question) quiz. All of this must be completed by 10 am on Tuesday, 1/27/09 for you to receive credit. This is worth one homework assignment. Detailed instructions and required information to sign up for MyMathLab are included in this handout. Once you have logged in, click on our course to see the Announcements. Run the installation wizard and view the tutorial on how to enter your answers. Then follow the instructions for the extra credit.
