C. de Vera

 

My name is Consuelo de Vera.  I am 20 years of age, born in the island of the Philippines.  I moved to California when I was about seven years of age.  I attended elementary school at All Souls Catholic School, in South San Francisco then went on to Mercy High School in Burlingame to continue my education.  After graduating in 1997, I moved to San Diego where I attended Mesa College. 

 

Not knowing what I wanted to become, I simply enrolled in general courses during my first semester.  On my birthday, I was gifted a book that was entitled, The Jobs for the year 2000 and the Next Century.  In this book I was able to learn about Respiratory Therapy which helped to decide on this profession.  I found out that it was offered at Skyline College, so I decided to move back home and apply for this course.  So here I am today.
