My name is Minda
M. Laquian. I'm a wife and a mother of three. I graduated from
Centro Escolar University with a Bachelor of Science in Medical
Technology in the Philippines year 1980. I migrated in the
United States on October 1981. In February 1982, I was hired as
a clerk at Delta Dental Plan where I served for over twenty one
years. My experience there was somewhat of a bittersweet one.
After twenty one years, due to a massive lay off, I lost my job
and decided to go back to school.
I felt at this time that it was my chance to pursue a
career in the health field and I chose Resriratory Therapy. I've
always wanted to be in a career which involves helping people
and I believe Respiratory Therapy fulfills this desire in me. My
niece Jocelyn, who has been a great motivator has inspired me to
push toward this field. She loves her job and everything about
it. My eighty nine year old dad has asthma. As I watch the
health providers perform their duties on my dad, I hope to
someday be the one to aid my father.
