J. Almonte

My name is Jocelyn Almonte.   I was born and raised in the Philippines.

Youngest of the three daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Reynaldo  Almonte.  I

moved here in California in 1994.  On March 1994, I started to work at

St. Francis Convalescent as a Dietary Helper.  In September, I took a job as a nursing aide at R.O.P.  On Fall 1995, I started to go to College of San Mateo.

My Professor in Anatomy showed a Respiratory Therapy brochure to

the class.  That's how I found out about the program in Skyline College.

I became interested in the program because back in my country

cardiopulmonary problems are one of the most common diseases.  Also, my father's brother has a tuberculosis.

I want to gain knowledge and learn about this field so I can share and help to educate people back home.  I also became interested in the program because I want to work in the hospital setting.  For me, helping patients, seeing them improve, and making friends are the priceless rewards that we can get.
