Cycle 4 Notes

CYCLE OVERVIEW
In the fourth cycle, you will repeat the cycle process again. Never take timing after timing. This is a Prescriptive program that works in cycles to increase accuracy and speed. Rhythm Development Drills are introduced in this cycle. You are to do these drills only if you have completed the first three cycles and have achieved a GWAM speed of 35 on a 5-Minute Timed Writing. The drills should be used for five consecutive class hours and should be followed by at least one complete skillbuilding cycle.
TIP: Use the instruction screen to familiarize yourself with the goals, suggested time of duration (approximately 5 hours each cycle), charting, Word Wrap status and specific activity directions. A Championship Technique tip appears on every instruction screen. Do not forget to do the Skillbuilding Development Paragraphs at the end of each session. Also, compare your progress at the end of each cyle on the charts.

I have added the Rhythm Development Drills to the assignments in this cycle as an added speed and accuracy practice. When you complete the drills there will be skillbuilding exercises assigned.

To key Rhythm Development Drills, select Rhythm Development Drills from the Main Menu. Choose a drill from the Rhythm Development menu and click the OK button, or double-click an exercise to open it. The Drill dialog gives you the option of choosing Sentences or Skillbuilding exercises. In the Drill dialog, click Sentence for speed drills.

Note -- If the audio and video files were not installed (minimum installation) when the program was installed on your computer, a CPK message will prompt you to insert the Cortez Peters CD ROM to access the audio drills.

Choose a drill from the Rhythm Development Drill Menu and click OK. If you are using the software's audio files, make sure that your computer speakers are on and that mute is not selected in the Volume Control settings (accessed from your system's task bar).
