Welcome
to Online learning!
You will be able to
complete all the required work without ever entering a classroom at Skyline
College. Please be aware that online courses generally require as much,
if not more time than traditional courses. You must be disciplined, able
to read and follow instructions, be computer literate and familiar with
e-mail, sending attachments, and file compression programs. Please
login to WebSMART to sign up for your student email. All college electronic
communications will come to your my.smccd.edu student email address.
If you have questions about taking an online course please email me at
gianoli@smccd.edu
CAOT
100 and CAOT 101 will be taught online during the Fall and Spring semesters.
The CAOT 200 online class is available only in the summer session. The
CAOT 100 and CAOT 101 classes are not online during the summer session.
They will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the CAOT lab at
Skyline, room 8119. The CAOT links above will
take you to the Web Access site and provide you with a Syllabus, Assignments,
and information about the CAOT 100 Beginning Computer Keyboarding and
CAOT 101 Computer Keyboarding Skillbuilding courses.

You
must email your instructor for all online courses you are enrolled
in before class starts so a
folder can be created for you. Please
browse the Web Access website http://smccd.mrooms.net
for valuable information about the class and assignments.

Keyboarding Skillbuilding, are online during the Fall and Spring

Make sure
you check the Forum frequently as
I will put messages there. You
will not be able to access the Forum if you have not entered Web
Access. Information on entering the site will be emailed to you.
Some pages may not be available as I am still working on updates.
Everyone needs to do their part in taking an active roll and participate
by posting messages and questions to the Forum.
It is important
that you have virus protection on your systems. I have provided
links to both McAfee
and Norton
web sites where you can read more about viruses and download either
the program or the program updates. Remember
your virus protection is only as good as your updates. Virus protection
should be updated every month.
